I'm just curious if any of you have ever put your C4 on a two post lift. Even though there are jack points marked, it scares me to think about raising the car with the only thing holding it being fiberglass.

Have a great day,

Hi, Doc. Welcome to CAC.

There's steel lip hanging down from the frame right behind those markers in the fiberglas. That's what the lift actually pushes on, so it's not a problem.

Thanks for the replies. I was parked on an uneven edge of a driveway once while watching a parade. A cool front blew in before I left so I was going to put on the Targa Top. It wouldn't fit in place until I backed it up onto a flat surface.

That amount of flexing made me leary about putting it on a two post lift. I need to replace the pilot bearing and I really don't look forward to the job if I have to work on a creeper. Pulling a 4+3 isn't a cake walk under any circumstances, but doing it while twisting around on a creeper makes the job even worse.

Thanks again and have a great day,

I dont like raising the vette at all. If i have to get one corner up, I ussually raise one whole side. Afraid of the flex.

I snapped my targa tool "corvette ratchet" because I tried to take the targa off on a slight slope....

Leave the roof panel tightly in place and obviously keep the doors closed.

i only have a glass top for my '85 and i was told to loosen all the roof-lugs. now i am unsure what i should do next oil/tire change. hmmmmmm

Always here different things about this. I never loosened the targa top when lifting one side. A significant flex takes place when you drive the car. I agree with Warren.....leave the top in place with the doors closed.

With the extra x-frame on the rags there is no problem. I even popped the door open to unlock the steering when it was off the ground and my door opened/closed without binding. I have heard that some coupe owners have installed this x-member to stiffen the car overall...
