Has anyone tried the remote controlled device currently advertised in the mid america catalog that apparently allows the driver to control the vaccum controlled exhaust bypass with a switch on the key fob.

Exhaust Switch

Did it about a year ago and it works fine.

Does the device attach to and operate the vaccum switch on the tail pipe or does it attach to fuse box working by opening and closing the circuit?

Exhaust By-Pass

The topic is not new as I have told others my experience. So here goes:
For about $100 Mid America sells a switch that with the simple press of a button that is on a fob that I leave in the ash tray, allows for the the vacuum switch on the mufflers to either stay at the factory setting or remain open all the time. Installation is really simple: Pull back the carpeting over the foot area of the passenger side of the cockpit and a fuse box will be accessible. On the bottom right hand side is a 10 amp fuse that controls the mufflers. Remove the fuse. Insert the fuse that is attached to the kit in its place. Attach the ground eyelet/wire to the screw that is a few inches to the left of the fuse.
Cover up the box and the carpet and all is done. Just push the on or off button and enjoy the music. Installation time about 30 seconds on a bad day.

I got one for my birthday shortly after buying my '08 convertible with the NPP exhaust. Works great, even on a 'regular' Vette (with the dual mode exhaust).

A remote relay can work but decided a simple switch is better. It retains the fuse and cost about $15 using a simple to install Add-A-Circuit. No changes to the Vette wiring are needed. All either do is disconnect the electric part of the circuit which closes the butterflys, which keeps them open. However to have a remote work with simple wiring the system keeps power to the circuit even when the car is shut down. With a simple switch there is no drain on the battery. Put info our commecial welding web site. See http://www.netwelding.com/Details_Vette_Info.htm

ELECTRICAL DRAW ON BY-PASS

For all that are interested in how the By-Pass works:
1.) From the factory, without doing anything: When ignition is off and the
engine isn't running no current is drawn by the solenoid that operates the
vacuum actuated solenoids that are normally opened. When the engine is
started the electrical circuit operates the solenoid and closes the vacuum
solenoids at the mufflers until the RPM goes somewhere over 3000 at
which time no current goes to the main solenoid and the solenoids at the mufflers open. 2.) If you just remove the fuse no current ever flows to the primary solenoid
and the solenoids at the mufflers stay open all the time.
3.) When you install the By-Pass kit, it allows you to go back and forth
between 1.) & 2.) above and you never draw any current unless the
engine is running and remote control defaults to the factory setting
as shown in #1) above
I hope this clears the air. It is simple. No rocket science.

A friend of mine has NPP and this switch. He likes it. The drone is BAD @ low RPM with a load.
I have removed the fuse on my car (Z06) just to hear what it's like. It got REAL old after about 15 minutes. I replaced the fuse PRONTO! Now when it's open, things are happening so fast that a bomb could go off in the passenger seat and I wouldn't notice!

NPP???

NORTY:
Am I having one of my senior moments/days. Please tell me what is NPP.
