I have been through the exhaust battle on my 95 corvette. I have installed and removed Flowmaster II chamber, Flowmaster III chamber, and Borla mufflers. The sound and performance with all three is great.

However, the resonance inside the car was unbearable. If the car had a 5 speed trans, I could go to different gear change the RPM and eliminate the terrible noise in the car. But I have an automatic, and at freeway cruzing speeds – it’s intolerable. Does anybody have any recommendations on aftermarket mufflers that don’t kill the brain cells or the ear drums from inside the car???

I have Borla mufflers.
At first the noise was too much when the top was on.
I installed sound dampener under the rear carpet. It made it much better.

I tried Borla. I don’t think I could have added enough sound dampening material to shut-up the resonance.

I have CORSA installed on my 92 and I can listen to the radio or my wife while cruising. This means that my RPM is usually below 2000 also. The CORSA system has a mellow sound, it doesn't resonate in the car (at least not to me) and it let's you know when you open it up.
