Hello,
Does anyone have any new info on this condition, my 2002 goes to the dealer Monday, it would be great to have some insight.
Thanks,
Murph

HI there,
The exhaust jingle is due to resonance within the H pipe and converter system.
It is actually the balance pipe, and the diameter within the pipe, that creates the condition.
As of this reply, there is NO service documents out for this condition, it is a known concern, and will basically entail a redesign of the H pipe.
There is a Service VME with the GM technical department, whereas they will be able to give your service department the information relative to the condition.
I am waiting for my service bulletin for repair of 31 ZO6 here in Ct.
So with that, I am sure that they will take good care of you.

?????????????????

..and what, may I ask, is an exhaust jingle?????

BoeingMan,

As you start driving the Z06, you'll here a jingle coming from the back of the car. Sounds like loose nuts being shaked.

I hear it all the time during the first 10 or so minutes of driving.

No big deal, however...

Our 2000 also jingles just as you accelerate, and you notice it at speeds under 40 mph. I crawled under the car ther other day and tapped and wiggled everything. I found I could tap the exhaust near the balance pipe and recreate the sound. It was almost like striking a bell.

So, at that time I told Nikki I thought it had something to do with the way the pipes were made. She was not buying it, but now I can share this with her and maybe she will believe me!

I've heard something similar on my Z06. When standing still, I'll press on the gas a little, and when I let off I hear a jingling sound in the back. Does this sound like the same thing?

Hello,
That's the sound which discribes what is happening in my car. It appears that this condition has not been corrected in the 2003 model run either. I have taken my car off the road due to the change of seasons up here, but I haven't had it fixed. If you by chance get the fix, please post it.
Thanks,
Murph

Hello ,
