Exhaust Question

[Striker 85]

Proud owner of a red 85. Sadly the orginal exhaust is on its last legs after a good drive down Route 66 this summer. I need to replace everything up to and possibly including the CAT. After reading everyones fine advice here for the last 2 weeks, I have settled on a Flowmaster Force II. However I am told its for 86 and newer. What is the difference in the 85 and any advice on where to go now if I cant use the II's. I understand the 1st Flowmasters had some Resonance problems. I want the performance, but not a lot of noise, low growl is good

The '84 and '85 used four-bolt flanges on the CAT. I have an assembled rear Y-pipe and back, if you know a trucker. It holds Flowmasters.

Thanks. Since I have to change my CAT, (Rust Dent and probably somewhat clogged) Can I change out my CAT to put on a Force II. I want a little more performance out of my 85, but I use it for travels so I like it a little quiet on the inside
