Extended Warrantee

I purchased an extended warrantee for my 2002 Coupe. The car currently has 13K miles. The contract is good until June 2008 or 72,000 miles (It is unlikely I will put that many miles on her before expiration). The contract is through Acura (I bought her at an Acura dealer). I paid $1395. The contract includes road side assistance for the length of the contract and has no deductible. I have 60 days to cancel the contract and receive a refund if I am so inclined. The contract is called Acura Car Car.

Here is my question:

Did I pay too much for this contract? Is there an extended warrantee that anyone recommends?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Check out the WARRANTY DIRECT website they have a very good quote system. This will tell you if the rate is comprable.

After researching dozen of extended warranties, I went with Warranty Direct. Paid $1660 (emmissions included) for 100K/7Yrs. My cars in service date is Aug 29th 2003 and the warranty card states the Exp date is 7/12/2011. You could probably get the same thing for less ($150 I think) if you are in a non emissions testing part of the country. Now I happen to own an Acura MDX and have their 100K/7yr warranty on it and have yet to use it on anything big. But for other things I have needed them for (service, rear ended, door dings and a huge 14" long scratch) they have been incredible. Everything was done on time, at or below the estimate and the people were top notch. So if you know the service people at Acura and are happy with them, it may still be a good deal just from that perspective alone.
