Unfortunately I have to sell my project car.

Even though I have not been active lately I am not gone nor am I leaving this great community.

As some of the the members may know I will be getting married in early June. This is not the reason for selling the car. In fact the wedding is paid for already in full along with the honeymoon to Cancun Mexico:m :_rock .

We will be moving to Albquerque NM and though we will be poor for a while I feel I should lighten our "load". We will be living in apartments and can only have two cars.

I also feel even though its going to be tough to let go its going to be a long while before I can really work on my vette and feel I should give it up to someone who is willing to give it the TLC it needs. I am asking $6000

******Disclaimer: again remember this is a project car and though I have done a lot just to get her running she still needs a lot more work*************

What I have done

-Be Cool Aluminum Radiator (1000hp Cooling Capacity)
-Dual Spal 11” electric fans
-New HEI Distributor
-Summit Long tube Headers
-True Dual exhaust system
-Flowtech (Holley) Mufflers
-Vette Brakes and Products 330 Lb Composite Spring
-Rocker Arm Locking Nuts
-Stamped Roller tip rockers (1.5 ratio)
-Vacuum Reservoir
-Aftermarket Flex Radiator Hoses with inner spring
-Original Rebuilt Starter
-Monroe S-T Gas Shocks (All replaced)
-New Duralast Battery
-670 Holley Avenger Carb
-BFG T/A Radials 255/60/R15 (original size, ~2000mi. on them)
-New Brake pads
-Energy Suspension Poly bushing kit
-East Coast Auto Electric 110Amp Alternator
-Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold
-Borg & Warner Replacement clutch (~2000mi. on it)
-3.08 Differential Gear (new bearings and seals)

Extra parts (will sell these independently of the car for a reasonable price)
-Edelbrock single plane manifold (needs some work)
-Original Quadra Jet
-4-Core Copper Radiator (needs minor repair)
-Original L-82 Fan Shroud (not made anymore)
-3.8 Differenial Gear
-A/C Condensor and compressor (aluminum lines were damaged when bought, I just removed it)
-Original Dual Snorkel Cold Air intake system
-GM “350 Hp” Hydraulic Flat tappet cam
-Replacement 60Amp alternator
-Original A/C compressor (lines were damaged when I bought the car)
-A/C Condensor
- Assembly Manual along with Haynes Service Manual

I have paperwork for EVERYTHING I have done and have spent more than $5K in parts and labor alone. I have addressed the majority of the issues the car had with engine and drivetrain. Other than a shortblock that is needed the next phase would require body and paint and interior restoration.

If you wish to speak to me personally send me a PM and I will provide a number where you can reach me. I am NOT HIDING anything and want the buyer to know EXACTLY what he/she is getting into.

Thanks

Frank

p.s. I will provide pictures to anyone who is seriously interested

Edit: I have updated the list of parts. As of know I have not had any serious takers. Will post picks this afternoon (4/28/03)

Frank,

Any luck yet?

I just listed my 90 in the local paper, and much like you, it is FULL of mods. It is harder to sell a modified car. A good friend of mine (using other words), says "There is a seat for every butt", so in other words, somebody out there is looking for just what you have, it just takes some time to line it all up.

Good luck!

"There is a seat for every butt",

I hear you, Its going to take a gear head to understand what I have done up to now.

I went to pick it up as I parked it in parking lot outside a K-mart and as I arrived there were people looking at it and the guy tells me

" I want a corvette so bad I can taste it" :L

I put my car up on

www.thebiglot.com
www.cars.com

and have it parked outside a store lot right in front of a main street.

no takers yet but have recieved a few inquiries.

Frank

Who makes the 3.8 gear you have? I might be interested in buying just that...

Good luck with the car, and make sure to get another as soon as finances allow :)

Joe

I think its GM. I'll get the numbers off of it for you.

If I remember correctly its 10 teeth on the pinion and 38 teeth on the ring.

I don't know why the pics don't show up. I just uploaded them to webshots and used the "IMG" tag and copied the URL of the picture in there. Does it take some time to load?

Right click on the X and select "show picture" if the pics don't show up.

Some places won't allow their photos to be shared.

You can right click, get Properties, then list the URL instead of the IMG, and we can just click and see.

Well I sold my vette :( ...........................to my pops :L. I did have one serious buyer come by but he was pretty much trying to stick me with the price. I was up front with him about the whole car and told him basically I wasn't going to drop the price more than what was agreed because I put a list of items on the car and at the very top in bold letters it said "PROJECT CAR" so the buyer would know what he was getting into.

He was an enthusiats so needless to say he was pretty amazed at the money I had already put into the car but in the end, as any other person would, he was looking at his own interests and we didn't agree on the final price.

It turned out for the better. My dad offered to take the car off my hands and I sold it to him cheap. The best part is the car stays in the family and once my wife and I are more financially stable and have a home of our own I am going to buy the car back from him and proceed with my plans.

Now my dads the one ripping up the streets in the vette :hb :L

Joe (Mainshark)- Sorry about not getting back to you about the gears. At the time my wife and I were head over heals trying to get stuff ready for our wedding and I lost track of a lot of things. Again I apologize.

Chris (69myway) How did it go with that green beast of yours? Did you sell it afterall?

Not a problem... I've decided to hold off on changing the gears, anyway.

Looks like you found a good deal on the sale. Congrats.

Joe
