F/S 2002 Vert Mag Red W/ 7500 mi.

Tell me what you guys think. I've had my car for sale for some time now and all I'm getting to respond are "tire kickers". Everyone wants pics and emails back stating "great looking car" and they all want to buy it wholesale for 32-33K. My car with 7500 miles has a KBB book for 36K+. I also see auction prices for the same amount. Am I not seeing something? I don't want to give it away and I don't really need the money. It's just I don't have the down time to enjoy it as much as I wished.

I think if you aren't pressed to sell it quickly, then you should stick to your guns. Especially if KBB backs you up.

You have a very sweet low mileage car with all the desirable options, and that wonderful mag red color too.

It may take patience, and you'll just have to put up with the people looking for that "unbelievable wholesale deal".

How long is "some time now"?

Tammy

About 6 weeks. I know it's not that long to have it advertised and I've waited for nice "vert" weather. I just thought it would be sold by now, but I've only had it posted on the "other" forum, which is where all the wholesale bidders are, and I just ran an ad in my local newspaper this week. As you know I've also had it on VetteHound. com. Next month it will be coming out in the Corvette Trader. I'm sure it will sell soon.

I bought my 2002 Convertible with 9000 miles, from the original owner. It is loaded and stickered for $56,170.00. I bought it five months ago for $34,000.00.

for a good idea of prices "watch" some Ebay auctions

Car sales by the big 3 are slow. They are discounting like crazy and this drives down the price of used cars too. I don't think corvettes are immune from this even though we all think our personal vehicle is special and worth a premium price. Last week Ebay had 39 2004 z06 for sale. I recall only one of them had exceeded the sellers minimum at the time I looked at them. I also think you have to be skeptical about KBB and NADA values. How old is the data and how do we know some sellers don't report inflated prices? No buyer likes to think he got a "bad deal" and I am sure no seller wants to admit he let something go too cheap. If I really wanted to sell something I would take the few thousand less and move it. If not, keep it,but remember, the price will decline with time also.

If you really want to know a true value, go to www.galves.com and pay the one time fee. All the dealers use Galves for "real" wholesale prices. Galves updates their data weekly. They only list wholesale because retail really is a very subjective number.

Need to correct a mistake. It was 39 2004 Corvettes on Ebay,not 39 2004 Z06's.

That's a beautiful low mileage car, so don't sell it for a dime under what you're asking for it. There will be one buyer that'll recognize what a bargain he/she's getting in that car. Be patient, the right person will come along.

I appreciate all your inputs. I agreed on a price for $36K from a person in Michigan. He's sending earnest money tomorrow and flying in Friday. At that price I feel we both got a fair deal. I probably could have gotten $500-700 more but I'm not complaining. At least someone will get to enjoy it more than I could. If the deal doesn't follow through I'll repost on the forum and might raise my price or just not come down as much.
