Updated info for my 1997 Torch Red coupe F/S in Jacksonville, FL.
Update to my post:
My 1997 coupe will have a new A/C compressor and new waterpump installed tomorrow. I just received a brand new A/C control module that I expect I can install this weekend.
With that also a new asking price of $15,900

I want to get back into flying and need to free up the $$$ I am putting into my Coupe. I bought it 3-1/2 years ago from the second owner. It has 87K miles on it now, and has been garage kept.
I have both solid and glass tops. I replaced all the tires 2 years after I bought the car. Tires still have many miles left in them.
It has the normal wear and tear for a 9 yo, but has a clean carfax. Never been in an accident. The steering wheel lock issue was taken care of just after I bought it. Paint looks good albeit the few nicks and dings from normal use. But sometime in the last year, I don't know when or where it happened there suddenly appeared on the top of the right rear quarter panel a small chunk just barely deep enough to expose the white fiberglass below. It's about the size of a pea.
I have been thinking about selling her for a few months now, but I just took her into my mechanic last week and found that the A/C compressor is on it's last legs and needs to be replaced. He suggested replacing the water pump at the same time since it has to be removed also. I am still debating on whether to do it before I sell it.
Althought the climate control still works fine, the display on the front of the module is beginning to fade.
When I bought the car the drivers side seat had about a 1/2" front to back play that was, according to the dealer check out at the time, within acceptable standards so I never did anything with it.
The previous owner had the same problem with the wear on the drivers seat that I think has been common with the C5's. A small hole developed in the seat where the elbow is placed when getting in and out. He installed some really nice red and black neoprene seat covers. But I noticed a few months ago that the seat cover now has a hole in it in the same place from my elbow.
So other than those issues the car is in pretty decent shape. It's always getting complements from people who cannot believe it's a 1997 Corvette.
The low retail value according to NADA is about $16,775. I know that this is usually an inflated price. If I could get $16,500 for this coupe I could move on to loftier pursuits.
I will work on getting some recent digital pics of her.
