I am from Canada and unfortunatly we have a stupid law that requires all cars to have daytime running lights (DRL's). My [recently imported from US] 1996 C4 LT4 6spd has 3 fuses associated with the DRL's that are accounted for and intact as they serve other electronic features in the car. I need to know how I can activate the DRL's - Do I need to install a DRL module? if so how do i do that? where should I buy this module etc.?

I have a 91 ZR-1 Canadian car. On my car it was very simple. Locate the sensor at the top of the instrument panel. Carefully pull it up. I used a small flat blade driver. If yours is like mine there are two wires going to the sensor. All I did was jump the two wires, by taking about 1 1/2" of 16 gauge wire and attaching a small male blade connector on each end of the wire, then pushing the small blade connector into each side on the backside of the plug. This jumps the connection. When ever you want to bring it back to stock status, all you have to do is pull the small blade connectors out and remove the jumper wire. No need to cut or splice anything by doing it this way.

:bash oooops ! my bad. I read it wrong. I thought you wanted to delete it.

Thanks for all your help - very much apprecaited - trust me i don't want these lights - but I need them to pass provincial and federal inspection - i might do it temporarily then remove after inspections have been passed.
thanks again!!

Look up web electronics they sell them cheap. Look for "Rain" a forum member, l just sold him DRL's

Thanks for the help!! - much appreciated.

Next question - i do hate the 1 to 4 shift feature for fuel economy - what is the best computer/wiring item to install to tell the car to bypass this feature?
Thanks,
Brook

Regarding the daylight running lights, being seen sometimes avoids a nasty situation .....and the statistics prove they work..... I prefer them, but to each his own......

Nice car by the way!

Good luck!

SAVE THE WAVE! :w

Easy way :lol

Hold 1st gear till the light goes out ... near 3K RPM on my CE LT4 .... they like to spin up a bit.;)

If you are under the car you can unplug the connector ... drivers side, mid-car, near the shifter boot. Most of the plugs are just to keep debris out of the connectors ... correct me if I'm wrong. :confused
