I am just about done with the new interior and have a problem with the Fan switch. As I go from low to high (4 clicks)the last click High shuts the fan off, as I switch it back down to med/high I can hear a loud click of a relay somewhere under the hood or maybe its under the dash not sure.

I installed the switch and noticed it could be bolted to the control in both directions, and if so the wires would be on backwards, could this cause this problem!!!!!

Do you have A/C? If so, (only) the high blower speed power is fed to the blower motor through a relay in the engine compartment. The high blower relay is fed from the screw terminal on the horn relay, with a red 12-ga. wire that includes an in-line fuseholder. The click you hear indicates that the relay is pulling in and dropping out as it should, but it isn't getting power from the horn relay to send to the blower motor. Check the fuse in the in-line fuseholder in the red wire.

WOW thanks John, I would have never thought to look their. I unhook the horn when I started the rebuild because of a short in the horn at the steering column; it was a broken plastic piece under the spring in the column. I have a tilt/telescope wheel and yes A/C.

I replaced the broken piece and I hear the horn relay click when I push the horn, I just have not plugged the horn back in yet. I'll bet the short took out the fuse. I will check tomorrow.

Thanks again Dave

John I check the fuse holder on the relay line and my heart sunk the fuse was good!!!!!!! I then cleaned the contacts and it works perfect now, a big THANK YOU, I would have never looked their and would have taken the console back out to check the switch if not for your help.

I also fixed the kick panel vacuum diaphragm door switch it would not work until I pulled the diaphragm all the way out by hand (I had vacuum at the line) but the diaphragm WAS FULLY COLLASPED) it worked perfect after that.

Thanks again Dave.
