OK ok I give what the trick to getting the fan shroud and the radiator installed in a 75 vette Do I need to remove the support put the rad and shroud together then install the whole thing as a unit ? Man I give help ! please .....

Look in the fenderwell. You'll see the bolts for the radiator shroud. Remove these bolts and slide the shroud forward. It should move about an inch. This is a very important inch. Good luck with it.

You have it correct- remove the support(check for rust at the bottom) and bolt it together with new seals too. Then put the whole thing in.You have to remove the hood and hinges to clear.

If you run a search you should find a few threads on this subject.

The method I used, and seems to work for other people to, is to unbolt the clamps at the top and unbolt the shroud.

Once thats done pull back the shroud, its best to remove the mechanical fan when doing this, and pull out the radiator before you pull out the shroud. Get someone to help you, makes life easier. I always lifted the drivers side first because the spout on the passenger side would get caught on the A-arms.

The shroud comes right out.

do in reverse order to assemble.

If your radiator support is rotted out order it now, so you can have it by spring (had to wait 4 months). I have a new radiator in and a new support and shroud sitting in the garage until winter. I found the very same difficulty in the radiator/shroud swap, and gave up until I have the time to dissassemble the whole assy.

This won't answer your questions, but as an fyi...the best project I have ever performed on my vette in 5 years was installing an electric fan. Besides freeing up hp and torque, I was able to delete the pain in the a#! fan shroud. I now have more room to work in the engine bay, and I just installed a new 4 row radiator in less than 15 minutes. No fan shroud to reinstall!!!! I used the stock fan shroud mounts for my homemade electric fan mount. I will NEVER go back to the factory setup in part due to the fan shroud. Good luck!
