fast window glass

The power windows in my 75 seem to go up at the right speed but come down too fast. When I lower them there down in a second and seem theres no drag as they come down. Im sure theres a simple fix but don't want to take the door apart unless I have the parts on hand to fix it and put it back together. Has anyone had this problem, and what part is broken ?

I had the same problem. The spring was broken. I ended up replacing the whole window regulator, since the rest of the parts couldn't have been far behind, especially with the strength of a brand new spring torquing them. So, I'd check the spring, first.

That's it. The spring on the regulator is bad. You can find them from several suppliers. Good luck, It's a real pain to replace.

Ok thanks I guess I'll get two new springs along with what ever other parts I will need to rebuild in the inside or the doors. Everything else works but theres a few rattles that I want to fix. I hate rattles when you close the doors.
