Does anyone know the fastest speeds that a LPE vette has ran? 0 to 60, 1/4 mile, or top speed??

;stupid :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW It is faster than a F18 that is taking off in the 1/4 mile.

Project 255

I read somewhere that LPE had something going they called Project 255, and the 255 was in reference to the Sledgehammer's top speed. Does anyone know anything about this?

the TT 427 with some aero mods and the wick turned up on race gas might be able to hit that.

these cars are the most incredible street rides. take a look at thel LPE c5 aero body with the ferrari front headlights. very nice.

I have heard of that - lofty expectations ;)

I have also heard the Callaway is doing "another" +++ ;)

UB,

I think you need to change that "LT1 converted to LT4" thing. You're putting down Z06 like numbers so a change should definitely be warranted!:w

LPE really stands behind their work. They have such a big reputation to live up to. I've read that Big John himself test drove every car to make sure it lives up the his quality control.

:L Got any recommendations? You should see some of the guys faces when I spank them and then they see the engine. They cant believe they lost to a bottom LT1/ Top LT4 so bad. The F-body guys think I have N20 system hidden somewhere.:L

I got it: LT6:D

LT6 huh? sounds good to me. I will more than likely get allot of questions about what a LT6 is. :L

The "Sledgehammer" Vette was timed at 254.6 mph and officially timed by the Transportation Research Center in Ohio. It is to date, the fastest street-driven car in the world.

Nick

254.764 mph ;) Driven by John Lingenfelter @ TRC.

Callaway built the car to prove a street driven Corvette could sustain 250mph top speed. Well, it did. TT 355 pushing almost 900hp...John was the only mofo crazy enough to drive it from Callaway Cars to TRC for the test. (Btw, LPE did do the motor...)

The TT 427 would pull some pretty even #s if not more so, than the Sledgehammer. Its pulling those 8.90s on the 3.42s! Not 3.73s or 3.90s or any of that. 3.42s!!!!!! And a stock IRS!!!!!!!! Granted, its been mini-tubbed to fit 345s out back on the like 18x12 wheels but you really think anything other than E/T Streets could handle the close to 900rwhp that cars pushin down? :Steer

Havent heard of a Project 255 from LPE, considering they're more or less concered about Johns condition and wanting the business to continue workin on customer cars...but im sure John wouldnt mind a little tire smoke and spent exhaust being put out in his name...

Project 255

Ling_650vette, I saw the part about Project 255 in an article from an online Corvete magazine that was about the LPE wide body. The owner of the car said in the interview that LPE told him about it or something.
The link here is to the page of the article that he talked about the Project 255. You have to scroll through the words at the bottom. http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2002/august/widebody/excess-end.asp
