Fender Bender *pic*

My brother was driving the Corvette the other day and stopped at a gas station to get a drink or something so he parked off to the side away from the pumps. Apparently he didn't park far enough away because a lady in a Ford Explorer Sport backed into him. He didn't see it happen, but luckily she found him and let him know what happened.
She backed into the drivers side rear fender. It cracked the fiberglass and made a nice little dent. We haven't got an estimate yet, anyone have an idea of how much it may be?

SpanishVette,
Is the town you live in near Cadis?

The father of the lady who hit it suggested a body shop that he said does good work. I don't want them to try and do a cheap job. Can anyone inform me on the proper way this needs to be fixed?

I would ask other Corvette owners in your area who might have had repairs on their cars. If no one has had any repairs , then attend a local Corvette show / Corvette club and see who's car looks like something and do your homework. It doesn't look like a major hit or high dollar repair. If done on the cheap , you will regret it and suffer the consequences. Good luck

Id be happy to go over it with you but its lengthy. If youd like Ill email you,let me know.

I would have freaked out. Is the quarter panel all one piece. If so they could replace it, but i think the whole back piece is one. I had a similar incident, and they just repaired the quarter panel. It isn't noticable until you look underneath and then you can see the fiber glass mesh and all the other repair work. Eventually i might have the whole piece replaced. In any account take your time and dont rush into a repair like that.

Yep we are about 9 miles from Cádiz.
I made a few trips to Rota in the early 90's. Just wondering. My wife lived in Rota ~2yrs. I use to Fly into Jerez. Thanks for correcting my spelling on Cadiz.
