Guess I am still confused :confused Does Bridgestone/Firestone still make the Firestone Firehawk EP (RFT) run flat and discontinued the non-run flat version or what?

I had the Firehawks on an 88, good experience except that I was diappointed as they were skinnier looking then the Gatorbacks I took off.

:confused What is the Gatorbacks, Goodyear? I have looked at my C-5 next to another one that has Goodyear run flats and I see not differance in the width. Did you have the Firestone Firehawk EP (RFT)?

Gatorbacks were the Goodyears that came with the C4's.

I have SZ50's on my C4 and they're excellent tires. 275-40ZR17's on all 4 that I paid $186 each from Tirerack.

Firestone Firehawk/vrs. Goodyear Runflats

Were they the (RFT) Run Flat Tire? My C-5 has the 18" on the rear and 17" on the front, and they look as wide to me as the Goodyear Run Flats. The tread is diffearnt and may make them appear narrow or what ever. But I just measured another one in town with the original Goodyears and they are the same width might be even just a little wider on the Firestone Firehawks. But they are pretty close.

Hey guys, just got back from the Bridgestone/Firestone dealer meeting in las vegas.

The SZ50 is currently only offered as the c5 RFT certified tire. Now for a little good news. There is a new tire coming out from firestone that fits the corvette Z06. They did not share the other sizes being offered, however I saw a set mounted on a Z06 at the dealer meeting. I'm told the new tire will offered in several sizes.
