Well---- I have finished the frame, susp, engine, trans and rearend. I am about to start a recon of the firewall. I have some minor rust at the bottom of the windshield frame. When I pulled the Windshield I found a rust hole ( 1"x2"), under the left lower corner. The rest appears in pretty good condition compared to many I have seen.

I am not crazy about the idea of removing and installing the firewall but I need it done right.

Now, is it possible to break it loose along the top side and down the hinge post, leave the floor pan attached, block the top side out enough to sand blast the metal that is presently coverd with fiberglass.

Any of you nice folk who have R&I your firewall, any input would be appreciated.

Just remove the whole thing, removing the flor pan rivets isn't that more work. If you're gonna do it, don't skip corners :)
