The reason why automatics in Corvette's is so prevalent is because GM made the auto standard and the 6-speed an extra cost option. That's because they know most buyers can't even drive a freakin' stick shift! So guess what? Many Corvette's will be autos.
Also, a superchipped L98 will NOT produce 300 bhp! Not in a million years!
Even if you put every conceivable BOLT ON power enhancing part to the L98, it will be hard pressed to produce 300 bhp. You may get 275 with an exhaust, K&N filter and cut lid, and the superchip. Maybe.
The good thing is, you don't need 300 bhp to have fun. 0-60 in 5.5 sec, 150+ mph top speed. That's what the late model L98 Corvettes can do. Fast enough for me.
