It's been 5 months since I bought my car and I have been waiting for all of the gravel from the winter months to be cleared off the streets. So I finally got a chance to drive my car and I got to say this car is totally unreal. It is completely a different car from the 93 ruby convert I once had. This thing just flat out halls and that active handling, talk about cool. I totally made the right choice in going with a coupe. Everything works the way it should and I don't see any problems with the car at all, that pre-inspection I payed for was worth every cent. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome and save the wave............:w

That's the nice thing about Calif., we drive our Vettes all year long....Almost makes it worth living here.

In a way, that's one of the nice things about living in the colder climates where winter lasts for 5-6 months. You have to put the car away for the winter (well, you don't have to, but you get the idea ;) ). When you take it out in the spring time, it's like getting a brand new car all over again.

As for the differences between the C5 and your '93, I know what you mean. Even during C4 production, there is a big difference between the late eighties models and the early/mid-nineties models.

I have a '90 and I was amazed when I drove a '96 LT4 equipped Collector's Edition convertible. The refinement of the '96 was much better than my '90.

A couple years ago, a local dealer teased the hell out of me by offering to take me for a ride in a brand new Z06. Although I started foaming at the bit in light of finally getting a ride in a Z06, I was somewhat disappointed, as he took me for a slow, 2 minute cruise around the back of the dealership over a crumbling road that looked like it came out of Baghdad after a heavy night of bombing. My initial thought was, "what the hell was the point of that...", but in hindsight, it was an enlightening cruise.

My '90 would have gone into cardiac arrest at just the sight of those potholes. The Z06 practically glided over them. The difference between the two generations is like night and day.

Hi corvette 4765982,
Welcome to one of the "most exclusive clubs" ever. The admission price is high, but so far worth it.
I know what you and Bob mean. My Vette has been hot since I picked it up Aug., 2002 (it's a 2003). Major hot ride. And in Canada where you can hit triple digit speeds (yea, yea, I know... it's kph), the Vette is a rockin ride. I still trying to finagle a couple days to get to Ottowa or Toronto.
Every spring is a new year of great driving and more excitement and fun.
When in NY across I-90 or down I-81, don't forget to wave.
Oh yea, if you're close enough, Vettes at the Beach in Sylvan Beach, NY in July. Go to the Syracuse Corvette Club site for details.

Hi,

I know what you mean. We had a cold wet spring in NH. Only took the vette out a few times. We are finally getting some nice weather this weekend and we are going on vacation. Will have to wait a couple of more weeks to get the vette back on the road!!!
If you are ever in NH and see someone in a 2001 Speedway white coupe waving to you, that will be me!!!
Enjoy...
Tony

Wow, 5 months of going into the garage everyday to be tortured like that? I couldn't take it!:L:L:L But it was worth it right?

I get that "can't wait to drive my Corvette" feeling everday.

Glad I live in NC where I get to drive everyday. If I had to wait 5 months think I would go CorvetteCrazy!

And that's how most of us in the Northeast, and other parts of the country where winter means WINTER, get before spring arrives!!:hb

hmmm...I'm Corvettecrazy. But I'm just happy my dad finally let me drive his in a parking lot, after over 17 years of torture I was about to just take it!

If your ever in Kaliphoria as Arnold would say, hit me up, I'll give you the correct demo ride you deserve. ;)

Rob, Rob, Rob,

I see your point but man we need to talk! There's NOTHING like taking out the ZO6 on a 30 degree day in January where the air is thick with oxygen, the engine is eating it raw, it's chewing up the pavement, the sky is blue, and there isn't snow clearing crap on the pavement here in Dixie. It is rather awesome to just jump in the Vette on most any day and get it on!! Ya'll come see us...we'll be glad to take ya for a ride in the dead of winter.....;)
