floor pan and seat belt

I have a 1976 corvette with a ton of rust on the floor pan of the driver's side. It is so bad that there is even a hole through the pan. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place where I could buy some new ones at the cheapest price. Also the seat belt on the driver side wont pull out and after hours of messing with it, I came up with no progress. If anyone knows of any websites with diagrams of it or a place where I could buy a new one for the least amount of money, it would be greatly appreciated.

Gotta hate rust in any form. I've never dealt with it so I am of no help there, But have you considered just browsing ebay for another body? That would seem like a much easier approach to curing the problem you have going on there. I've seen some corvette cowl back bodies at a reasonable price on ebay.

Most of the major Corvette aftermarket providers carry replacement floor pans. My advice would be to shop around and see who has the best price.

Replacing floorpans is a labor intensive job but with the right tools, time, and some brute force it's not that bad.

In case you are thinking of doing it yourself, perhaps below may help:

You need a good drill, a spot weld drill bit (roto-brooch), a sawzall or plasma cutter or torch. A couple of hammers and chisels come in handy also. Don't forgot the beer either.

Strip out the interior:

Drill out outer side spot welds:

Use a sawzall or torch and cut out the tunnel side. Leave plenty and trim later after trial fit:

Test fit and trim pans and tunnel. You are going to have at least a half inch overlap at the tunnel side and on the outer side the pan should sit on the lip where it was previously spot welded:

Check fit and clearance underneath also:

Fit pans, dril 1/4" holes a few inches apart around the lip of the pan where you will spot weld the pan to the tunnel and outer edge. Spot weld working from side to side so as not to build too much heat in any one location. Once tacked in place all around use a seam sealer to seal up all the way around. I used seam sealer inside and out. Clean the weld surfaces REAL GOOD. Some weld-thru primer will also help protect the mated surfaces:

Rivet the toe board to the front lip of the floor pan.

Prime the entire area inside and out:
