I've known this for some time, but did not realize how bad. The foot well of the passenger side floor is seriously cracked. See my bad cell phone pics below(sorry). It looks like damage from i'm guessing a lift many years ago i have just been reluctant to deal with it.

Basically there is a crack running along the lower triangle outline from left to right, with smaller wholes in each corner. From underneath, i'm able to push much of the floor up less than 1 inch i'd say.

Are there floor "pans" available that can be installed. Or is this an incredibly costly fiberglass repair. There is also a minor smaller hole on the corner of the driver side, under the clutch pedal.

Anyone have similar and/or can offer advice?

Thats not that bad:)..Get some SMC Panel Adhesive and a fiberglass kit..Weld the crack and fill the holes with the SMC Adhesive..Let it dry,it bonds seams because it's a two part epoxy that will be stronger than the area around it..Then lay at least two layers of fiberglass on the inside and outside and you should be as good as new...Good Luck:gap

What he said, but use something like Fusor (epoxy resin) instead of polyester resin usually found in most auto parts stores. Also use fiber glass matt instead of cloth. Remove the metal shields by drilling out the rivits. Replace when the fiber glass sets.

Agreed, this is an easy repair that you can do yourself. Just follow the directions on the fiberglass/hardener kit, available from just about any auto supply store or even your local hardware store. Because it's a floorboard, it doesn't have to be cosmetically perfect, so this is something you can do yourself. It's very common to see cracked floorboards on a c4, since the car sits so low to the ground.

Thanks everyone. I've never done this before, so wasnt sure how difficult it would be. A friend at work has also volunteered to help me with this once the weather gets a little warmer.

So i'm going to order the Fusor Epoxy Bonding Adhesive Kit from Ecklers, but the link to the fiberglass mat says "These repair materials are not formulated to work on 1973 and later Corvettes with SMC panels."

http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?pf_id=10713&dept_id=127

Does that make sense? I dont understand exactly why. This should be good to use right?

The auto stores only had the polyester resin ones.

I would contact Ecklers and ask about that, "Which material am I supposed to use?"

Ok, Fusor and mat are on the way and should be delivered friday. I'm gonna give this a go this weekend if the weather holds up. The holes are bad and i can really hear the road underneath.

Any pointers, i'll have to get some rubber gloves, etc. A roller?

Here is how I ened up! It was interesting. Its solid now. Very strong. It has also reduced some of the body flexing. There was one missing rivet that came out along the door sill. Just replaced to hold the floor board down.

Did you also do it from the top down? Looks good. If you want to clean it up it can be sanded then smoothed with some SMC.
