Hi everyone, need some info on replacing my fog lamp bulbs. How do you access them for replacement bulbs? also any tips on a bright white bulb ( To Kick It Up a Notch... Bammm!);LOL would be helful thanks............. Dr C5 Corvette~

I had my doughtier replace them for me. With the headlights up her arm was thin enough to reach and replace the bulbs from under the hood. Eklers and some other whosalers sell bulbs rated at 85 watts for about $19.00, OUCH! Don't be fooled by all the other ads talking about kalvin scale or other bs, they are all 55watts.

Ok, I Replaced my front yellow markers last year and it was a tight fit OUCH!!! So thats where they are ok thanks for the reply. I going to use white silver stars 893st there book list this number as an upgrade replacement to the OEM 893 fog thanks................ Dr C5 Corrvette

Thanks for the tip, there both replaced with the oem sylvania hologen 893's Thanks................ Dr C5 Corvette

I upgraded my fog lights by replacing the stock 35W halogen bulbs with a 55 w halogen bulb and then aiming the light fixture (which from what I have read is not something that they do well at the factory.) The results were amazing!:upthumbs

Ok, How did you adjust the fogs? What did you shine them on( a wall ) to raise the light up thanks Dr C5 Corvette

I did mine in the drive way on the garage door. I think it took me about 5mins to complete the job.

I shined them on a wall about 15' away . They say that the beam from the fog light should just meet the headlight but I think that it's a matter of preference.

check out: westcoastcorvette.com, catalog pg 55, product #15131192....PIAA fog light conversion kit, with installation instructions.....considering for my own '02 roadster !!!

looks good but I would try upgrading yours first. It's a fraction of the cost.

Thank You!
These forums are a great resource for all of us that look at the Corvette as not only a sports car. It is also a starting point when we have questions or seek opinions on different items or problems that we all run into. Thanks again to everyone that keeps the forums running.

I had mine out last year. I removed the plastic cover just below the nose and bumper, took out the tube for cooling the front brakes and then there was plenty of room. I removed the lights, cleaned them up real good; reinstalled them and adjusted them on the white garage door. As you probably know this can be done with a I think #12 torque bit screw driver, there is a notch to access this right from the front. A little tricky :ohnoes but when you find it it will make sense.

Hope this helps some, but I am sure there are a lot of differant ways others have done this. :beer

Good luck,

Bill:w

I just replaced a bulb on one of my PIAAs and did it just that way from the bottom. Some say you can get at them thru the headlights but my fingers are too fat ;LOL

I tried that first and my hands & arms would go very far, then when I got there I couldn't do anything. Made since to remove the cover on the bottom for sure.

Hope all is well with you and yours bossvette. Got to change oil in the C-5 pretty soon; do you use Mobil 1 and the AC oil filter?

Take care, by the way are you going to make it to Colorado for Crusie Fest this year?

Much better! :beer

I looked at your web site and all I have to say is what a bunch of awesome Vettes. . . . . . :upthumbs
