I know of a 1984 tutone silver. Paint looks good. Automotic transmission.
Last inspection/license was 2002. 30,000 miles on the odometer.
Battery was disconnected some time ago. Yesterday battery was connected and dead. Jumper cables were used, from her other brand truck, and it fired right up. No smoke. No noise from the engine compartment.
"I" drove it out of the garage then had to back, thusly using reverse. No problem. And she drove it away. Has a low rumble to the exhaust.
Have no knowledge of engine size but runs smooth.
Thoughts? What would you offer for the car?

VanityBob,
Just for comparison I found the two 84’s below at Rogers in Florida, here is a link to the main site, http://www.rogerscorvette.com.
(links to the 84’s are listed below)

Sounds like a low mile car that may show well on a NCRS field, the 84’s are now that old, I can’t believe it! :eek

Rogers prices are probably on the high side, but he does take in some of the nicer used Corvettes.

My offer would depend on how orignal and how 'cherry' the car is, plus what my intent for the car is. These cars are expensive to fix, like most newer cars. Some '84 parts are not available through the usual sources, so I would want an original, very nice car. This one sounds like a candidate for further inspection.

If you intend to show or even drive the car the above applies. If you intend to modify it and make it a lot faster, later years are a much better choice.

The seller figures into my offer, too. We'd all like to get the buy of the century. If the seller is motivated, for whatever reason, a lowball offer, perhaps with some correspondingly low ads in hand, could be in order. $3500, in hundred dollar bills?

The second car on the Rogers list had non-84 wheels.

Don't be afraid to make a lowball offer. I got my '84 for 3,000 dollars cash. :)

Mind you I bought it off my godfather, but still. I mean he was only asking 4500. And it runs fine, no real problems, just lots of little things that you can take care of easily.
