Gee....pulling the injectors/fuel rail off with the miniram II is soooooo much easier than with the accel super ram.....

:booty

Anyway, my oem 85 injectors are pretty much shot...well at least 2 of them and thats after 2 rebuilds

So new 24lb Ford SVO injectors are on the way via Summit Racing. They should be here tomorrow.

They were $10 less than the Accel units, plus i've heard alot of good things about the SVO units and the Accel units.

Anyone using SVO injectors? Mabey the ford dealer has them cheaper and I should send them back??? Mabey I should have checked the dealer first...oh well...

Anyone?

:bar

I had 24 # SVO injectors on my car.

I am now using SVO 30# injectors without any trouble

why did you switch to 30 lb units versus 24?

From my understanding with a map car part of the programming involves the size of the injectors.....so i'de have to get another chip burned/updated from ed wright.

2 reasons:

1) if I ever build my 400 I have them
2) I wanted to keep the duty cycle down at WOT.

I burn my own PROMs so it was not a big deal to me. 24# will be fine for you. I got mine used for a killer deal, that is why I switched

I have used 24's, 30's, and 42's with not a problem. Fit is great and performance is flawless.

LP, im sure my old super ram has a nice home out east!

Well, they arrived today and look great!!!

Im going to put them in this weekend......proabbly sunday....my g/f is going to atlanta to look at emory's residency program.

In other words, free time!!!

I had them (SVO's) in my Camaro, worked great.
Although not really necessary, the SVO'd don't come with
retaining clips. You'll have to re-use your stock ones
so be careful taking them off the stock injectors if you want to use the clips.

well the injectors are in and it went smooth. Well except that the o-ring's on the rear miniram fuel crossover both fell somewhere behind the motor.

So a quick trip to home depo was made and for $.49 each I got 2 new o-rings.

They look great, fuel pressure holds for awhile after shutdown and the car sounds really good. Too bad its snowing.

Seems like in the winter it always snows when I get somethng new on the car.

Grrr.....

Now im just waiting for sears repair to get me back my keroseen space heater to keep the garage warm to finish up some misc. stuff.

:duh

I sure hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats a good question to ask, but i've used rubber o-rings from home depo before. They are out of the plumbing section. I used a rubber o-ring from home depo plumging dept. when I had the super ram for the cold start injector block off. And I put about 6000 miles on that motor.

now im paranoid....im going to call tpis tomorrow and ask about replacement o-rings and where they get theirs from. But like I said earlier, i've used o-rings from home depo before w/o a problem. But I dont need a fuel line rupture at high speed, or period.

Anyone care to chime in on this?????????????

I hate to ask, but are those o-rings gasoline compatible?

I was going to ask the same thing. I have had the 24's in my car for about a year. No problems.

I still have my old injectors, but the o-rings from those are bigger than the o-rings on the miniram fuel crossover tube.

Remember that song, "things that make you go humm?"

:confused

Be careful with the o-rings...with the wrong rubber compound, the first time you get the motor good and hot they could crystalize and then you got trouble. Stay with TPIS or good ole GM for the right stuff...

TPiS replacement O-Ring pair for Fuel transfer tube
PN 500-605 $5.00

I agree. its not worth $2 to risk burning up my car! I'll get a new set of o-rings.

I tried Accel 24# injectors on my L98 to ZZ4 conversion, and well over half leaked so bad that raw fuel was running out of my tailpipes. I swapped to Ford SVO and haven't had a problem since. I belly ached to Mr Gasket, and they replaced them without a hassel. I am just a little hesitant to try them again.

Hey, maybe I can sell them on Ebay....

Put alittle oil on the O ring before install.
