I highly recommend Corvette Action Center member "stingray6974" for any corvette repairs, work or needed parts if you live anywhere in Texas. He has a tremendous amount of corvette knowledge and expertise. He owns 3 corvettes himself. He is committed to quality work and I found him to be extremely honest.

I contacted Stingray6974 (Mike) after he was recommended to me by 4 other C3 owners in North Texas. They were correct. I had him rebuild my trailing arms, halfshafts, strut rods, rear differential, install Dewitt radiator and replace the #4 body mount bushing on my 1973 convertible. All his work was excellent.

Even thought he lives 120 miles from me it was well worth the effort and time it took getting my corvette to him---plus it was a fun drive in my C3! I would take my car back to him even if I moved out of state--he is that good; and his rates are reasonable. Since good C3 mechanics and restoration people are very difficult to find these days I wanted to pass this information along; And thanks to the members that told me about Mike!!

Tom: You are so correct! I think I actually sleep better at night! Just knowing that Stingray6974 exist and is available gives me peace of mind! Must be part of the sickness of being a C3 owner.

Rob: Ohio? Gee, that is a long way from Texas! Seriously, I do know that a member had him travel over 300 miles to come to his home to assist with repairs. Stingray6974 is that good. I do not know if he has " have tools, will travel" on his business card. You would need to ask him.

I will throw my .02 in here...

YES Mike is that good! He is also one of the best I've EVER met when it comes to QuadraJets ;) If he has any flaw in his armor it would be FANS & BELTS, esp. moving ones ;) (Sorry ole buddy, but I couldn't resist ;) )

I don't know if this is so much an endorsement, or just happy seeing Mike being recognized for his talent, and for being a FRIEND ;)

I don't live in TX, but I mailed him my QJet from GA last year and felt he did excellent and timely work! I wish I lived closer so we could send him our projects that we are unable to tackle ourselves...

I SECOND THE MOTION!!!!!!!!!!

Mike has shed a whole lot of "light" in the dark areas on my knowledge of Corvettes, and in turn, he has helped me tackle all of my Corvette issues on my own. Thanks Mike! :D

Thanks Patrick (George),
It was a real pleasure working on the vette. It is definitely one of the finest 73's I've seen. I can only compare it to Bud's L81 when driving it. Not sure which one I was more nervous about driving.
For the members who don't know me I started my own Corvette business in Jan. 05.
www.classiccorvetteparts.vstore.ca
and I am a supporting vendor here at the CAC. I stock mainly chassis/suspension parts but I am a dealer for many of the larger Corvette related companies. If anyone has any suggestions/recommendations/requests please send me an pm/email.
Patrick, again thank you for the good words.
Cleveland? How's the food up there?

Fans and belts

Thanks Bud, I had completely forgotten about that. Till now.:L
Heidi and Gerry, Thanks too for the good words.

FOOD????? WE have the BEST cookouts east of the Mississippi.......we even supply the beer.......

Well in that case I'll put Cleveland first in line for my traveling vette repair show. I need to get a bigger truck first.

I went over and met Mike a few weeks ago and saw him working on that '73. He has so much knowledge about C3s that it needs to be bottled up somehow. After I saw the work that he had done on the other members cars I am convinced that I would go to Mike with any of my Vette needs. He also has a vast knowledge of what parts on the market are junk and which ones are solid. He wants to be a vendor that only sells/installs the good stuff, not some of the junk that is out there. My '79 is going to be seeing Mike here soon.....

Rob....I found a place in Garfield Heights called GPV Performance. This palce is nothing to look at from the outside. When our comapny mechanic took me there It looked like a piece of s... building. These two guys know everthing about Corvettes. It's not a great looking place but some of the Vettes they are restoring and working on mechanically made me think a little differently. I bought a rear end cover for mine ( I broke and ear off changin the spring) and only paid $55.00 for it. They also had a frame off of a 73 that they had just finished and it looked beautiful. The address is 4876 Cahincraft Road Garfield Heights...phone 216-475-3408. Mention that Mike form Suburban Car & Truck told you to call. This place is off Broadway and I-480. E-mail me and I will give you specific directions.

To those members needing any type of C3 repair work, I continue to recommend Mike. Everyone that has utilized Mike's skills, talents, and expertise has been very pleased. He is truly a C3 master mechanic and a great source of corvette knowledge. If you need any work done in the DFW area contact him!

So nice to see this post. Mike-good on you. I have C3 questions myself and a source is...all good. I understand Chevy's, but Corvettes are unique in their own right.

Mike (6974), I hope you don't mind if I send a question sometime. Like, um-well-how do I use the Mid-America rear wheel bearing packer in the best way...?
And, I have the GM grease as well. :)

Thanks for any input.

Rick

Hi Rick,
Ask all the questions you need. I'm not in town right now, making my way back from Carlisle. I should be home in a couple of days.

Hi Patrick,
Good to hear from you again.

Mike
