Freight issue

Hi there

Stupid question but can anyone tell me the weight of a shock absorber or a set of 4? This is a issue as i pay pr Lb in freight and some times it is cheaper to buy stuff closer to Norway if things are heavy,

Why not ask various suppliers to quote you a price including shipping and handling? They may drop the price to compensate for higher s&h costs. and they'll know the actual shipping weight including packaging, as well as customs and duty issues.

It may be a moot point, I don't think gas shocks can be shipped air freight.

Why not try v e t t e . s e, there you can calculate freight also, and no you can not ship these by air freight.

If you are not into racing I can recommend ACDelco (gas shocks), and available locally from your GM dealer here in Scandinavia, only costed me SEK 2000 for all four.
Part numbers: 530-42 Front, 530-37 Rear.

Bilstein cost a arm and a legg in Norway and if i buy from Sweeden i still have to pay 25% VAT on top so the best is to buy from the United States as i do with all the parts i need. Even with $200 freight and VAT i save quite a bit. I am buying a set to my Tahoe in the same go so there is a total of 8 shocks and i posted this thread since i thought $200 in shipping was quite a lot. I payed $950 for a hardtop to my Corvette and that was a big and heavy box

Of course, I know the shipping costs the hard way, payed $55 for shipping on FSM hnoes
Reagarding VAT, 25% is included, you should be able to avoid this and pay Norwegian VAT instead.

ps. don't forget the exchange rate between NOK/SEK, you currently have a real advantage here.
