Ok, here goes, I have a frog that is messing up my car daily. In the morning I can see in the morning dew on the car where the frog has been. It looks like he jumps up on the front, then works his or her way all over the car leaving a trail of dirt when the water dries. The car will only stay clean for 1 day, the frog also can get in the car and does so nightly. He gets in by the driver's up near the dashboard. I tried blocking up the little openings with rags, I sprayed all around with bug spray hoping the odor would repel him but no luck. It gets frog juice all over the dash and inside windshield. I don't know what will repel it or make it want to move to my wife's Honda. Anybody know any remedies? I was thinking maybe mothballs or something like that. What is the life span of a frog? I have been trying to get rid of it for about 2 months with no luck. Thanks for your time and advice. ;help:confused

Ok, I have been in this business a long time and have never heard of this issue, I guess there is always a first no matter how old you are. I especially like the part of trying to move the frog to your wife's Honda, quite clever to say the least.

If a frog is getting into your vehicle (even a small one) there has to be a hole bigger than normal somewhere and if you cannot see it then you may want to take the vehicle to a shop that has a smoke machine, and can fill up the interior with smoke and look for leaks externally. Some repair and body shops have them for water leaks. Rodents can "shrink" their body's to get into places much smaller than their outside shape, but I doubt frogs can, so I would definitely want to find the source of entry as it is probably a damaged area that needs to be fixed anyway. Good luck with it. :)

Yea, a new one to me as well. That has to be a pretty good sized hole for the frog to get into. Sorry, I'm going to be no help at all. :ugh

Thanks for the replies, the smoke is a good idea. When I opened the door yesterday he jumped inside the the quarter fender, he was just hanging on the front of the door by the hinges. There is an area between the ends of the dash and the body where there is an area wide enough to stick my finger through, that was the area I blocked with rags yesterday. This frog is about only 2" to 3" long, not very big but makes a big frog mess. It's 5:00 a.m. now, in a couple of hours it will be lite and I'll go out and check the situation and let you know if the bug spray or rags had any effect at all. On Monday on the way to work when I got to Tampa where there was street lights and I could see he was on the dash in front of me. I opened the window in the hope he would jump out but no luck, before I parked I stopped and thought I swished him out but it was dark and was not 100% sure I got him. Perhaps I did and there is more than one, thanks again, will get back to you.

I would say to roll down the windows and set off a few bug bombs in the garage. But don't do it if you have a gas hot water heater - - - boom.

Well the frog still lives, I parked in the driveway yesterday and left the doors and hatchback open all day with the hopes the frog would enjoy the weather and leave but I can see he is still not getting the hint. Today I am going to do the bug bomb trick. One in the car, one under the hood. I will let you all know if the eviction notice works.

Frog in my corvette

It's Sunday morning and for the first time in months there was no mess inside the car. It rained last night so I'm not sure about the outside. I hope it has moved on, I'm going to park the car facing the opposite direction today in the hopes it will throw him off if he still is around. It's going to get down to about 50 tonight so I hope he looks for a car with a warm engine to snuggle up to. If not the drive north might be an option! Thanks people, I appreciate your input, time, and advice.

Success, the frog is no more. I have not had a problem since last Sunday. I really don't know what worked or if he decided to move but I guess he is gone. THANKS for your ideas and comments, Merry Christmas to all.

Glad you got rid of it

But, this has got to be a first...frog in sneaking into a Corvette.

Gotta be the purple paint.

No doubt he left for Loch Ness. :chuckle
