Re: So are C4's "classic" now? (Thud)

When the C5 came out, it seems the C3's became classics. I guess two generations ago means classic.

So are the C4's classics now? :D

Certain C4's were destined to become "Classics" like the low volume and unique models such as (but not limited to), Callaway Corvettes, Corvette Challenge cars, ZR1's, and Grand Sports. There is also a large following of the 89 ZF6 spd cars, Ruby cars and Z07 suspended cars..
(I also think 1988 4+3 Vettes w/ sport interior & Z52 will find a place in the spotlight at some point)

Most of the other C4's will maintain their values by keeping up their condition and I think like the C3 series, C4 future prices will be based upon condition and options NOT the mis-guided notion that "newer is better"

there is my New Years prediction :m :v

I think the C4's will take an immediate hit, but that would be just temporary. I think that some of the current C4 owners will trade to C5's, just like current C5 owners want to trade to C6's. It's all this big ripple effect.

For personal and selfish reasons, I hope that the C4's take a temporary hit when the C6 arrives because I could use a few more C4's here in my driveway. I have a 4 car driveway with a 2 car garage! I can just imagine 6 C4's in my driveway right now: My current 88 35th Anniversary, a Grand Sport, a ZR1, a Callaway... I can't even think of the other two!

I personally am fine with my C4. I'm not into the "newer is better" philosophy. A Corvette is a Corvette, no matter what generation or style.
