I am sound/heat-deadening the car and the right front carpet is fused in one small area, to the rubber underlayment. The area is narrow and about 4" long, next to the tunnel, about where the ball of the pax's left foot would rest.

Is past heat the culprit or is this a factory glue?

The original carpet looks very, very good after a cleaning. Hence, I am breaking my interior-removal-cherry. Can I say that?

I do get hot (hotter) on that side, Mike; my floor was discolored in that area.

I know someone has changed out their carpeting.

Any tricks? TIA...

Heat from catalytic converters have been known to cause a problem in this area.

I've done it at least twice! :L

There are no tricks that stand out at the moment, Mike. If I think of anything I'll let you know. ;)

Okay. I just pulled it back out of the way and laid the mat under it. I was able to get all but the very top of the footwell and the tunnel, which sould not be an issue. I was most interested in the insulation aspect in the footwell.

Now, the driver side to finish it off.....after I get back from Asia.
