When I replaced the opti and water pump a few years ago I also replaced all the seals in the front cover. The crank seal was leaking fierce.
Now its getting really bad again, but this time I'm going to replace the crank hub.
Not looking forward to the job, but it has to be done.
A friend suggested maybe using a speedi sleeve and using the existing hub.
I'm not crazy about the idea, but I thought I'd post and ask if anyone has used a speedi sleeve rather than a new hub.

Crank Hub Repair Sleeve

The sleeves are an acceptable fix, they work great when installed as per instructions, also some times there is an offset seal that rides in a different spot on hub, I prefer these, but I doubt they are avail for the LT1. I am a retired GM mechanic, we always sold new parts to max profits, but go with the sleeve, the hub is not cheap.
