Front End Noise

When I am driving very slowly and cut the wheels all the way I get a scrapping sound. Any ideas?

I would ask if you are sure that the noise is coming from the front, and NOT the rear of the vehicle??????
Also, does it happen both ways, left and right??????

I think it happens both ways, but I am sure the noice is from the front. I have heard it while backing up with the wheels fully cut.

Ok, so, in that case, I would remove the front wheels, and take a look at the inside of the wheels. See if there is any shiny parts, like where it may be hitting something in the front end.
What is your mileage????
Is it more of a rubbing noise, or a squeak, squeak????
When was the last time you had the rear diff lubricant changed with friction modifier?????

This may not be related but when I had my 99 Coupe and heard what you heard at low speed, it turned out to be a fan belt pulley assembly. It was replaced and that was it!

ok let's see if I can get all the question answered. car has 22,000 mile; it a rubbing sound not a squeak, and for rear diff lubricant changed with friction modifier, I don't think ever. Unless that's part of the 15k service.
I have looked under the front end and haven't see an shiny areas. I will soon need an oil change, I get the dealer to take a look.

When i had the same noise i was ceertain the noise was coming from the front, however it actually was the rear..i had the fluid changed to the newer fluid with the anti-friction additive and it cured the problem.....$119..gm may pay for it..i'll know tomorrow..
