front engine oil leak

HELLO, a co-worker here at walt disney has a 93 ruby. he has an oil leak at the front of the motor . he has looked and looked,but can't locate the leak. any suggestions?
is this a common problem with the 93's?

Sounds like the front crank seal. I just went through this. Nothing but bad news if thats where the leak is. If you take it in to be done it's a $300 plus job. If you do it yourself you have to take the whole front end of the engine off. Good luck to your friend though.

Later model LT1s have issues with leaks from the distributer shaft and or the intake manifold.

When the car is on a lift, you can see the front of the engine from underneath to get a clearer view of where it may be leaking from.

Your friend can get some oil dye at a GM dealer, add it to the oil and drive a while, then go back to the dealer or find a shop with a black light where it can be put up on a lift to pinpoint the source of the leak. Usually works great.
