Front Grill question on a '68

I know the original C3's had the edges of the front grills painted gray to mirror the chrome bumper. Are these still available anywhere? I can't seem to find them. I have considered painting the edges of my current, reproduction grills, but am hesitent to do so.

Has anyone else painted the edges? If so, any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

All the repo's I have seen are all black. You can paint the edges with some silver, just make sure you clean them well before spraying.

I too replaced all 3 on the front of my car last summer. The repo's I rec'd were solid black.
I ended up taping them off (PITA) and painting them. I used the silver rally wheel paint, looked great!

Wiped them with alcohol and sprayed away....
