In CA we have to put the front license plate on. Unfortunately my car did not come with the frame. Anyone have one that they want to get rid of? Also, how is it mounted, self tapping screws?

You did not specify what year your car is, however, the catalogs (mid america, Eckler's, etc) sell bezels and frames for all the generations.

I'll look at the supplier mentioned, thanks, it's an '03

97-04 front license plate frame

Ecklers has it in their catalog, part number 41179 for $14.99. When you take the front cover off the plate slides into the frame which is attached with two screws at the bottom of the plate. I know I had to do the same thing here in NY. When I took the cover off their were two screws under the cover looked factory. Does'nt look to bad.

I'd also suggest you get the plastic cover that goes over the license plate. My neighbor has one on his '03, and it looks really sharp. It encapsulates the plate.

Hi Everyone, I have the same problem here in Mo. Can anyone tell me how the front "non-plate" cover comes off, before I start pulling on it and break something?

Thanks

I would suggest the painted version from Kewl

Its the stock frame finished off in the cars body color from the manufacturer..

If I remember correctly it was about 50 bucks and its worth it.

I had a local body shop paint a stock one for me a few years back and it only lasted a couple of years..

I'd recommend the Kewl licence plate frame ordered in the color of your c5...

Looks good imho..

Here's the link for just the front...

I don't care for the rear one and I have it sitting in my garage..

The front one is nice though..

I think if you mention the corvette internet sites and you might get a 5 or 10 % discount ? I can't remember exactly..

Either way worth the money in my opinion..

Better than the black mustache unless you have a black car..

Get down really low and look at the bottom of the non-plate cover. You'll see two screws. Unscrew and the cover comes off.

Thanks, I am gonna try running without it for a while but I am sure I will be stopped sooner or later. The only problem I had in NY was when the car was parked and the meter ran out and they have me a $10 ticket for the plate. Missouri may be different??
