front license plate cover

I have a 1986 C4. Can someone tell me how to remove the front license plate cover?:confused

It's been a long time since owning a C4 BUT if memory serves me correctly
There are 2 torq type screws in the bottom of the cover, the top of the cover has 2 little tabs that fit up into the front end.

I have a 3 hanging in my shop from 3 new ones that I've owned so if I can out to the shop and look at them if this ain't right

That sounds like an accurate description. Look into the crack at the bottom of the insert. With a flashlight it might help see the torx head screws. Take those out, and the insert comes out easily.
