Would one front spring not seated in the upper pocket make the whole car sit 1-1 1/2" higher? Removed mine this weekend because one was not seated right and the whole front was sitting about 29" floor to fender lip. Dont want to put them back in if its still going to sit to high, think they are stock springs.

Springs

John,
Very good question, I'm not sure that there would be an answer to it besides just putting them (or it) back correctly and measuring it again. If they're old why not just put some new ones on. I bought my 550# springs thru MAD and they were only $80 or so a few years ago. Really made the ride firm. The good thing I like about the 550# springs is that they lower the front about 1/2" or so. Looks much better to me. The springs are shorter than stock to accomodate the fact that they don't compress as much when loaded.

You could also go lighter #/inch rating and just have a bit cut off.
good luck with it

Not sure what they are, just ordered replacement springs at Advace Auto for a 77 with air. They were 3" shorter than the stock springs and didnt need a compressor to install. With new front coils /new rear 9 leaf and new body mounts and the car hasnt been driven yet because of the weather here its sitting 29" at all four fender openings. Thanks jw
