1984White Z-51 Coupe Auto, 2002 6 spd cpe,
I first posted this message in the wrong place sorry guys I'm new at this.
I have an'84 Z-51. The front end makes a creaking sound whenever the suspension moves in its travel. It's not the shocks. I have new bilstiens all around. It's not the sawy bar - new bushings. I even tested the bar by disconnecting it to see if the noise is still there. It was! I thought it was the control arm bushings. Even though the car is tight and handles like a go-kart I had a shop check them out. They said they looked good. They even sprayed W/D 40 on every bushing in the front end. It still creaked like an old sailing ship. The sound is so loud that it's embarrassing! This is not good for the entire corvette community, please someone Help!

Welcome to the :CAC

I am just taking a guess here but I have heard of the bushings themselves being noisy if you replaced them w/ poly bushings - just a thought & I am not sure if you did...

Maybe you just need louder mufflers ;)

Thanks for the reply. I have a re-engineered cat (Gutted) My car sounds like a Formula Cigarette Boat already. I don't need help with the sound effects from the exhaust just the front end. But thanks anyway

Have you checked the for the creak with the hood both up and down?
Some of the sound could be comming from parts of tied to the front sub-frame that aren't tight enough.
Later cars have some additional bumper and gaskets around the hood. I have seen notes posted about the intake rubbing on the hood.

I know you replaced the sway bar bushings but sometimes when they are real dry they tend to creak.

BTW does it sound more like a Formula or a Cigarette?:D
