Forum members-

Got a question specific to 01-04 Z's.

Has anyone here substituted a 275/40ZR17 Goodyear F1 GS-D3 in the front for the stock 265/40ZR17 F1 Supercar?

If so, how'd it work for you?

Forget that question.
I put on the D3s and they fit and work great.

I think the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 makes better sense than the F1 Supercar if one is going to drive a Z06 in heavy rain and that's why I put them on.

I'm with you on the D3 but the diameter difference may effect the traction control and ABS. Did you look at that also?

I've had the tires on the car for about 500 miles now and there's been no affect on TCS or ABS. Initially, my thinking was like yours, Tuna, but once I got the tire dimensions and saw the height difference is only .2", I figured there'd be no problem and so far, road testing has proven that out.

I did the Swap to the GS-D3 and expected the same performance I had with my 1990 C4 when I switched from GY GSC's to the first bunch of GS-D3's in LA County.
I put them on my 02 Z06 and have loved them since mile one.
Excellant traction, good wear, lower noise, and a greater feeling of comfort on wet roads. Plus they look so good!
I do not intentionally drive on rain days. I learned the lesson of reduced traction back when I drove on Gatorbacks and hit puddles. These tires feel much more "in contact".
My Z06's supercars were old, (5 years), and had hardened to "no traction donuts".
Aren't the GS-D3's designed for Euro- sports and sport tourning cars?
