I believe that R&T or C&D once had an article on auto theft prevention and they said for a high performance car that stands out, the best protection is to have a fuel cut out/shut off switch rigged somewhere easy to reach but not visible to the eye. Their logic was that if a thief gets by the usual factory deterrents, they will be able to start the car but the cut out will allow it to run just a bit down the street and then it will stop. The worst thing for a thief is to be caught out in the open and in plain sight away from the security of a dark garage where they now have to start searching in the middle of the street for your switch which (as far as they know), may even be under the hood or in the trunk.
