Yesterday I rejetted my Holly 4160. I went from a 72 jet to a 68. Everything went fine. I noticed after all was said and done that my fuel filter had very little gas in it . Usually it it full. I know the clear fuel filters are a no no and I have to get rid of it but I cant figure out why my fuel delivery is so low. The fuel pump is new, less than a 100 miles on it and my tank and lines were dropped and cleaned at the same time I replaced the pump. The car runs fine but I am afraid that it is starving for gas. Any suggestions.
Thanks
Mike

Mike, believe I have seen other cars running the clear/semiclear fuel filters and they all seemed to have some sort of air bubble in them. You wouldn't think so, but they all seemed to run fine. Guess sometimes an air bubble gets trapped in the filter but the fuel still flows fine. And I'm with you on ditching the glass filter. Charles

Helloooo, i've never heard the glass/clear filters were bad. please enlighten me! i have to say, i've got one on each of my Harleys and one on the Vette. can't say i've noticed anything, but i have been wrong before.

They're a fire waiting to happen; any rubber hose or glass filters on the pressure side of the fuel pump are a fire hazard. There's a reason all the OEM pressure-side plumbing is steel line with flare fittings.
