Anyone here running aftermarket fuel filters?

I'm installing a Perma-Cool external transmission filter, and I noticed that they also have a "fuel filter/water separator" unit.

Good idea? Bad idea?

Joe

Yes it's a good idea. IM running a Russell brand fuel filter/water separator type filter.

I like that $20 bracket :)

Is that the Perma-Cool filter, there?

With a carb, I guess mine's going to be up in the engine bay, though, since I don't think the system would like the filter to be before the pump.

Joe- Yes it's a perma-cool. The bracket was made by a local shop, I drew a picture of what I wanted and the guy said $20, come back in an hour. If you have an electric pump I've heard it's best to have it close to the tank, if you have the stock pump I would imagine put it after.
