ok i just got my brand new qjet in for my 72 454.

everything hooked up perfectly.
prefilled the bowl.
turned the key, started right up.

YEAH!!!!!!!

then i noticed that the fuel inlet was leaking. not the small line but the actual nut that goes into the carb. what is suggested to fix this before i break something.

plumbers dope?

pipe tape?

epoxy?

O ring?

tighten the hell out of it?

the threads dont look chewed up and nothing looks cracked

thanks

There should be a small gasket that goes on with the inlet fitting, between the inlet and the bowl. I've had this problem before and ended up replacing the inlet fitting with an aftermarket one.

there is a white gasket under the nut. should i just go to napa and get a replacement to be on the safe side?

Replacing the gasket is a good idea, if that doesn't fix it replace the fitting. I say that it is because many times the fitting it self are abused, cross-threaded, over thightened etc. I've had to replace the inlet fittings before; they looked good and everything tighten up and still leak.
