2006 C6 automatic. Since about 52K when the fuel gauge gets to half way it drops to zero and I get a fuel system error. I understand there are two level measuring elements. From reading of past Vettes it might be the left one. I have tried about a gallon of Techron and partial help but no fix. How hard is it to pull the tank(s)? I guess if you pull it you might as well put in a new sensor vs cleaning the old one and having it repeat. Any suggestions? Thank.

I have seen on You Tube a way to drop the passenger side tank with out tearing apart the whole rear end. The way chevy will want to do it is the hard way so they can get at the cross over tube more easily and how it connects to each tank. Very costly to have done I hear. Yes you should replace the sensor and maybe even the pump since you have it all apart. When you do get them fixed use a top tier fuel like Chevron or Shell V power to keep things cleaned up.

Real poor system in my estimation with no accessability to the fuel system for things like this. Pumps and sensors are going to fail sooner or later but totally ridicules on what you have to do to get to them.....My sensor started acting up on mine at 25K miles and was out of warranty. I am in the process of working with GM to get them to fix it......good luck with that I'm thinking....
