Sounds like you need to put some gas in that puppy.:eek

Okay, seriously, is it an OEM type mechanical or aftermarket mechanical or electrical?

When you say sucking air, how did you determine that? Do you see or smell raw gas anywhere down the passenger side of the car, from the front to the back?

Do you know when it was last replaced? How about the hoses?

No answers, just more questions, right now!!

Aftermarket, frame mount. No gas fumes. All hoses good on presure side. Checking supply side hoses in morning.

I am restoring a '78 vette right now. I just dropped the fuel tank and found that the steel lines just inside the tank had small pitholes in it. If you cannot find another source of air leak, as a last resort, you might check those lines out.

I intend to drop the tank next week, but I eliminated the tank as a suspect when I attached a fuel line directly to the fuel pump and dropped the other end in a gas can. I'm still getting air. I now suspect the fuel pump. It sounds fine, runs up and stops at pressure. But there's air all through my fuel logs. The more air I bleed, the more air I get.

What pump are you running? Is it going into a regulator?

in line high pressure pump, regulated by the TPI.
