Fuel pump question

After be out and about for a few hours with the top down, my wife tried to start it with no luck. When I got there the first thing I noticed was the lack of the sound of the fuel pump. I checkd the fuse and it was blown. After replacing it it still had no sound nor would it start. My wife is heart broken, any suggestions?:cry

If it blew the FP1 10 amp fuse, most likely the fuel pump motor is bad.

This is the procedure for a 90. 93 should be basically the same.

You can remove the pump and sender in about 10 minutes.
Open the fuel door lid. Remove the black plastic plate 4 torx bolts. (Leave fuel door mounted to the plate).

Remove the black rubber boot that goes around the filler neck. Takes some carefull prying but it will come out.
There may be an overflow hose connected to the rubber boot.

Remove the two rubber fuel hoses and a electrical connector.

Remove the bolts holding the fuel pump assembly plate and then pull the unit out.

If you purchase a new pump, also get a new sock (filter) and a new gasket if the old one is ripped.

Note the position of the old sock so you install the new one in the same position.
