thinking ill replace fuel pump this weekend . any tips on doing this job thanks.
Like Jon says ..... a straight forward job. The new pump often comes with instructions ..... you can't go wrong!!!!! :D

The fasteners that hold the assembly to the tank should have O rings on them. When I pulled the unit out of my tank, 4 of the O rings were toast. I don't know the size you need, but the fasteners have a 10mm head. Might not hurt to have a few spares when you get into it. Bit of Never-Sieze on the fasteners can't hurt either when it's going back together..

When you remove the assembly, some crud is going to fall into the tank. Unavoidable, even if you use an air hose to clean things up first. Might not hurt to replace the filter after a tank or two of fuel goes through it. Even with a fresh sock, not worth risking a plugged filter. You'll be amazed at how much rust you will find at the top of the unit, where the filler neck goes in.

I'm sure things will go well for you ...... Ron ..... :w

You'll get a lot of feedback to this subject, but one thing to keep in mind above all else - SAFETY FIRST!

Remember, we're dealing with a flammable liquid but more than that, we're talking enclosed space. That in itself makes it all the more hazardous. Be careful and think before you act. We want you with us to continue to enjoy your Corvette. :CAC
