I went out this morning to start my 82, and nothing. Replaced the battery that was 6mo old, and it started up fine. The problem is that i can hear a faint humming sound from the back of the car. I believe its my fuel pump. Does this mean I have to get a new fuel pump relay? How do I get the thing to shut off without diconnecting the battery?

One member did say it could be the Oil Pressure switch, and oddly enough, I did change that switch the day before. The OP switch appears to be working, and the OP guage reads normal now. Could the switch still be bad?

Anyone?

fuel pump noise

I had what I thought was my fuel pump continuously runniing even with the ignition key off, but it turned out to be the power antenna. I had to cut the wires leading to it (could'nt find a fuse)

Ya, I've been though that one already. I had to replace the antenna a couple months back. This noise is not as loud. I'm pretty sure it's the fuel pump.
