Hi have a 82 crossfire and I am have problems with the fuel pump. When I hook up the battery charger and put it on start boost the fuel pump will work and the car will run for a few hrs then when I shut it off and try starting the fuel pump will not come on until I hook the battery charger and set it to boost I already changed the fuel pump relay and that is not it I have a fuel pump ac delco that I will be putting in this weekend is there something I am missing as to why it will start only with the battery charger....

Welcome to CAC!!!
Enjoy!!!

have you checked you wiring?????
or perhaps a bad ground....

Hi Rob (?), welcome to the CAC!

What model fuel pump do you have? The original or did you go 84/85 yet?

When mine failed, the car even ran, but wouldn't take well to trying to accelerate at all; anything over 1500RPMs would make it die.

If it's still the original, i would swap it out for the newer style.

Are your connections onto your battery tight?
If they're not you will be getting a drop in voltage across these connections; which could affect a motors performance.

Yes they are tight I also put on new cables too but I will check all and see if they are all tight.... I will be working on it this weekend and see if I can get it to go..
