In the sixties today so I decided to get the Vette, this car is still new to me and I found somethings today that concern me. For the first time I notice a whining noise from the rear, I think it is the fuel pump, I can't say I noticed it until today, is this normal? Also the A/C heating system vents don't seem to be changing, no matter what mode you have the system in it seems to blow about the same out of all vents(defrost, floor, dash) and suggestions?

thanks
dusty

Turn up the radio................:upthumbs

THe noise is the pump... It happens to me on and off..but I got used to it..one day I will replace it....the Air...had the same problem had to take it to the dealership and they fixed it for about $250...good luck

Funny drove the car again today and could barely hear the pump, in fact if I had not been looking for it I probably would not have even noticed it. Why would this be a coming and going thing?

HI there,
It could become more noisey and then less.
As for your heat, most likely the vacuum supply hose is broken or eaten away by leaking battery acid.

I have the same whining sound...

Mine is a 98 with 37K miles. It is really loud and I'd like to fix it. A dealer told me to change the fuel filter and supposedly that would help. Does that make any sense? Is there any other solutions other than replacing the whole pump?

Mine does the same thing Dusty, sometimes it's annoying and sometimes I don't even hear it. I had read of similar experiences here before so I wasn't concerned....just annoyed:D.

BTW - that top looks awesome. Everyone that sees the car comments on the condition of the top. Thanks again!

my vents wouldnt work either, ended up a broken t and hose in the pass fender area and on the bottom of the vac canister, a new t and hose from napa for $7. took care of it. had to take out the battery and battery platform, pretty easy job.
