Well, 50 miles into the Thanksgiving trip the '85 had to be put on a flatbed and trucked to the local dealership. Don't have a diagnosis yet, but the symptons were bogging down when throttle applied, hard to start, rough idle... any ideas? Fuel filter, fuel pump, electrical?
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to all...:cry :CAC

Bummer, ddmau my guess would be same as yours. A fuel pressue check will confirm if it's the filter or pump. My experience in a variety of vehicles with electric fuel pumps is they either work or they don't. If it turns out to be the pump I have had the best results using OEM pumps as opposed to knock offs such as NAPA, Checker, Auto Zone, etc. Anytime after 75,000 miles the pump can go south on ya. Two things that come to mind that are hard on electric fuel pumps, are running less than a quarter tank of fuel frequently and pushing fuel through a plugged filter. I change my filters on both Vettes once a year reguardless of mileage. Cheap insurance. Happy holidays, bummer about the Vette. 84 CF 91 ZR-1

So MIke....any word on what happened to your car? I am interested to hear what it was cause mine did the same thing.
I am going to replace the filter this weekend and then check the fuel pressure. I hope the filter is it. Let us know....Eagle

Well, the local dealership replaced the fuel pump, filter, and relay for me. They suggested replacing the sending unit also, but at $2,000. I passed. Anyway, the pump has a "lifetime" free replacement warranty at that dealership. Runs great now. :) :Twist
